Under the direction of the Radiologist and Department Director, performs interpretive, patient care and technical functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. Participates in technical duties directly involved with the CT scanner including developing, initiating, and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of this unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Two (2) year degree in Radiological Sciences

2. ARRT certification/eligible in Radiography

3. West Virginia State Licensure.

EXPERIENCE:

1. One (1) year of experience in Radiology and CT

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Four (4) year degree in Radiological Sciences

EXPERIENCE:

1. Two (2) years of CT experience

2. Experience in special procedures

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Maintains equipment for proper diagnostic imaging.

2. Sets up and adjusts equipment dependent on the exam being performed.

3. Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for the exam requested.

4. Reviews patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained.

5. Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students.

6. Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts.

7. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific jobrelated hazards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Differentiate various shades of gray as depicted on a black and white television monitor or photograph.

2. Stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.

3. Wear a lead apron weighing approximately 8 to 15 pounds for extended periods of time.

4. Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds of weight.

5. Carry items up to 20 pounds.

1. Ability to interact positively with patients, families, and members of the Health Care Team.

2. Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously.

3. Ability to improvise with altered positioning techniques, manipulation of the equipment, and accessory devices when routine positioning is compromised due to patient's condition, age, or ability
